About
Getting To Know Carson:
When I was a host on a San Diego mortgage radio show, I used to play a game called “Liar, Liar” to get people to call into the program. The game was played with my producer and me each telling a story; however, one of us was telling a lie. The callers would win a prize if they selected the correct story. In this case, I will label this “True Story” where you get to know Carson.
Oprah Winfrey Wanted To Have Me On Her Show:
True story: I started my self-employed career as dog walker in Chicago. When I did not get a job as a corporate banker, I started Paws and Claws Pet Sitting. One of my clients was a producer for the Oprah show and I was asked to match pets with the owner’s personality and looks. While I decided not to do that, I successfully grew the business to over 200 clients trusting me with their pets and giving me access to their homes.
How To Control a Situation When Two Police Officers Have Their Guns Pointed at You:
True Story: I helped put myself through college by working for a local pest control company and one of my responsibilities was the skunk catcher. I had just caught a skunk and I went to a secluded area to find a new home for the scared furry one. Immediately after releasing it, two police officers pulled their guns on me. I raised my hands and noticed that the skunk was in between them. I calmly let them know the situation they were in and they instantly listened to my instructions. They put down their guns down and were very still. I was not the guy they were looking for clearly and we all escaped stink free. Being able to think clearly under unique circumstances has also come in handy in lending as my job is a problem solver. We can get through any situation together.
Going To Prison To Start My Lending Career:
True Story: I was working for a union affiliated mortgage company and I drove down to Donovan State Prison on a cold sales call. I was very nervous as you might expect. What most people do not think about is there are over 1,000 employees at each prison. Fortunately for me, the training supervisor liked me and let me talk about their CalPERS home loans at the mandatory trainings. You don’t have to go to prison to start your lending career, but I did.
I Have Closed Approximately 1,000 loans:
True Story: I have been very blessed to have a great number of people trust me with their largest investment. I am honored when people have confidence in my ability to perform. I chose Aspire Lending because it a boutique shop with a great parent company behind us. I have been fortunate to work with some of the very best in our industry and I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge to make the lending process as smooth as possible.
